  1. Lip are one of the most sensitive organs in human body having more than a million nerve endings. The only other parts of the body with rich nerves are nipples.
  2. The nerve endings in lips are in fact almost 100 times more than those in our finger tips.
  3. Because of numerous nerve ending they possess, lips are extremely sensitive to touch or tactile senses. This is why toddlers and babies tend to explore new things by touching them with lips.
  4. Amazing fact is that lips do not sweat as they do not possess sweat glands. As the lips are not moisturized by sweat , they dry out faster than any other part of the body.
  5. In absence of sweat glands , the lips can never get a pimple.
